Prescription Refills for Homebound Patients
Managing medications should be simple and convenient, especially for older adults and individuals who have difficulty leaving home. At Housecall Specialists, our medical providers, Marina Ryan and Katie Hnis, under the medical direction of Dr. Daniel Boss, help established homebound patients manage their prescription medications as part of their ongoing primary care.
Patients may request prescription refills without traveling to a traditional medical office. To ensure medications remain safe and appropriate, we request 2–3 business days to process prescription refills and require a recent medical visit. Depending on the medication and the patient’s medical condition, an updated evaluation or laboratory testing may be necessary before a refill can be authorized.
Our providers review medications, monitor chronic conditions, and address potential side effects or changes in treatment needs. We also work with patients, family members, caregivers, and pharmacies to help maintain continuity of care and avoid unnecessary interruptions in prescribed treatment.
How to Request a Prescription Refill
We encourage patients and caregivers to contact our office before their medication supply runs low. When requesting a refill, please have the medication name, dosage, and preferred pharmacy information available.
